Jayaprakash Nagathihalli (born 18 December, 1965), also known as JP to his close friends and well wishers, is a multi-dimensional personality – he is an Indian television host, social media influencer/facilitator, motivational guru, mentor, trainer and a successful author, all rolled into one. He founded Transformation Unlimited and the Nagamma Foundation; he is also an active member of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and was the Convener, entrepreneurship development for ASSOCHAM.
Early life and education:
Jayaprakash Nagathihalli was born to NM Govinde Gowda and BS Nagamma in a village known as A. Nagathihalli in the Mandya district of southern Karnataka, India. After completing his initial schooling from the government primary school in A. Nagathihalli, Jayaprakash came down to Bangalore and got enrolled in Saraswathi Vidya Mandira and later on in the Bangalore Higher secondary school to finish his schooling. He completed his pre-university course from the BHS PUC College and then joined the Vijaya College to get his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in 1985. He has also successfully got himself a Master Degree in Mass Communication & Journalism (2014), a Diploma in Business Administration (1988) and a Diploma in Journalism (1989).
After completing his education, Jayaprakash joined the Commercial Tax Department in the year 1988 and worked there till 2008. While in the Commercial Tax Department, he joined JCI India in 1996, as a member and got a chance to see and participate in a lot of training programmes conducted on several subjects by various well-known trainers. This triggered a passion in him to become a trainer himself and he completed zonal, state, national and international level training. He then started doing training programmes himself and also got an Excel graduation certificate from the JCI University in the United States of America (USA) in 2004. Eventually, he gave up his job in the Commercial Tax Department and became a full time trainer. Till now, He has conducted more than 3,000 training programmes for different organizations in the corporate, government and social sectors, reaching out to more than 400,000 people.
He has worked in several organisations in several capacities. He was the President, Youth Writers & Artists Guild, President, Junior Chamber International, Bangalore South, Zone Co-ordinator, Zone – 14, JCI India, Member, Programmes Committee, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore, Secretary, Indo-Soviet Cultural Society, Secretary, Karnataka State Peace & Solidarity Organisation, Secretary, Karnataka Yuvak Biradari. Currently, he is the member of FKCCI, Business to Business Network and J.P. Nagar Rotary, Bangalore.
Jayaprakash Nagathihalli is a well known television host and a popular news presenter. While working with the Commercial Tax Department, he got selected to freelance for the Chandana TV, Kannada Doordarshan and helmed the news show there for 3 years. He has also anchored some popular shows and is a very popular interviewer and a group discussion moderator, having conducted over 2,000 interviews. Some of his most liked shows include “Belagu”, “Vyakthithva Darpana”, “Vyakthithva Chandana” and a popular phone-in programme called “Hello Gelayare”. He has had a successful career for 19+ years and is still going strong on Chandana TV.
Literary works and Digital media:
Jayaprakash Nagathihalli is also a very well received author, having written 5 popular books. His first written work was “Nudigannadi”, which became an instant bestseller and has helped a lot of public speakers and teachers. His four other books are “Solugalige Anjadiri”, “Keelarime - Yenu? Yeke? Hege?”, “Udhyoga Koushalyagalu” and “Anukshana Anubhavisi”. Jayaprakash Nagathihalli has also released 12 videos and 5 audios.
